INTERVIEW
What are your passions and hobbies?
Windsurfing, baking, cooking, volleyball, cycling, photography, crafts.
What is your secret superpower (or one you would like to have)?
A fridge full of weird leftovers – I can make a fantastic meal out of anything. Also, I am very good at mismatching socks. And if I could have a superhero-style superpower I would choose super speed!
What is your favourite dish from your country?
Kama with fermented milk (kama is a flour combination of seen different flours, very Estonian).
Who is the most inspiring athlete for you?
I am most inspired by my own little racer kiddos who do the craziest, funniest and the most stupid things possible and their awesomeness reminds me every day why I do this and why I want to do what I do.
The words I live by are…
Everything is hard before it is easy.
What motivated you to apply for the EYOA programme?
I actually had no idea such a program existed until my NOC called me and said: “Hey, I instantly thought of you, do you wanna go?” That was the moment of motivation – hearing that I was their first choice. I really enjoy international programs and it will be a great story to tell my grandkids about.
What are your goals as an EYOA?
To make a difference and to be a part of making this super cool programme even cooler, bringing in some new ideas and viewpoints for both EYOF participators and spectators.
What would be your dream job in the future?
Already doing it!
What are your expectations from being an EYOA?
In my eyes, an Ambassador is someone who commits to contribute to an organisation’s efforts to raise awareness or to promote something. Like to make a difference. An Ambassador is a representative, the face of the game if you can say so. A team player definitely has good communication skills … braveness, determination, spontaneity and fun. And EYOF in Vuokatti – Oh, that’s gonna be a super epic week – we can finally meet everyone and bring our ideas to life!
What does Olympism mean to you?
For me Olympism is all about unity. It’s what helps the community grow, pushes it forward and makes it whole. Unity is the state of being joined as a whole – a team, and the team often refers to sports, which have this amazingly unique ability to make a positive impact in society.
