INTERVIEW

How old are you?
25.

What is your sport? Are you an amateur or professional?
I used to be a competitive swimmer and water polo player.

What is your biggest sports achievement?
I won a silver medal at Junior Swiss Nationals in 100m breaststroke and a gold medal with the 4x200m freestyle relay at Senior Nationals.

What languages do you speak?
Serbian, German, Swiss German, English, Italian, French and a little bit Russian.

What are your passions and hobbies?
I love watching sports in general but water polo in particular! I also love working out in my free time.

What is your secret superpower (or one you would like to have)?
Flying!

What is your favourite dish from your country?
Sarma.

Who is the most inspiring athlete for you?
Dénes Varga.

The words I live by are… (motivational quote)
Fall down seven times, stand up eight!

What motivated you to apply for the EYOA programme?
I once tried to qualify for EYOF in 2011 and missed the qualification by an inch. The EYOA programme gives me the opportunity to experience EYOF even though it’s from another perspective.

What are your goals as an EYOA?
I want to connect with people from all over Europe and experience sports in a different way.

What would be your dream job in the future?
I would love to work in sports – whether that is a NOC or a particular sports federation.

What are your expectations of being an EYOA?
I would love to make new friends and extend my contacts in the sports world.

What does Olympism mean to you?
Sports are not just a game, they are a life lesson. Excellence, friendship and respect are just as important in the real world as they are in sports.
