In the waters of Europe’s most important rivers and lakes, sprint canoeists follow a centuries-old tradition of bold navigation, challenging the limits of speed and precision. 

THE GOAL IS AT SEINE

The canoeing competition at the 2023 European Games in Krakow left an indelible impression, featuring intense races where competitors fought until the last moment. Although no Olympic spots were awarded for the 2024 Games, the athletes displayed remarkable performances, hinting at the amazing competition that awaits in Paris. In Krakow 2023, limits were pushed, and three European records were set. Dragosavljevic Marko (SRB), Borowska Dorota (POL), and Luzan Liudmyla (UKR) each set a new European record respectively.
Since the European Games, over 300 days – over 10 months – have passed. Some European athletes have now secured their place in Paris, while others continue to pursue their last chance to qualify. Now, in Szeged, Hungary, the final showdown unfolds as these athletes compete for the Olympic ticket
In Szeged, every athlete strives for a chance to make history, with each stroke crucial in their quest to reach the pinnacle of sporting competition—the Olympic Games. On May 9th, we’ll discover who has earned the coveted Olympic ticket, propelling them to the competition in the waters of the river Marne.
