The 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) held in Erzurum, Turkey, brought together approximately 1,500 athletes from 34 countries, competing in 9 sports disciplines. This edition stood out for its commitment to promoting winter sports among Europe’s youth, utilising state-of-the-art facilities and providing a platform for budding athletes to showcase their talents.
Innovatively, the 2017 EYOF emphasised cultural exchange and unity through sports. Beyond the competitive events, the festival organised various cultural programs, enabling athletes to engage in intercultural dialogue, fostering understanding and solidarity among participants from diverse backgrounds.
Furthermore, Erzurum introduced technological enhancements in the realm of sports broadcasting and engagement.
