INTERVIEW
What are your passions and hobbies?
Climbing is the activity I most enjoy in my free time, as well as skiing and snow-tumbling whenever possible. Also, I enjoy making and drinking various types of coffee.
What is your secret superpower (or one you would like to have)?
I would like to know whenever someone’s lying or being dishonest. I think the world would be a much better place if we all just spoke our minds. Sometimes the truth is most undesirable but extremely necessary.
What is your favourite dish from your country?
We have a specific dish that we eat at funerals, a type of cake named “coliva,” which is delicious. Unsettling tradition, but tasty nevertheless.
Who is the most inspiring athlete for you?
Anna Korakaki (Greek shooter), who at just 24 years old has won multiple world championships, the Olympic Games and is also a best friend with her competitors. It is always a joy to watch her competing since she is so amicable.
The words I live by are…
Dream big, try again and rest well.
What motivated you to apply for the EYOA programme?
My NOC proposed engaging in the application phase, and so I gave it a try, without really knowing what a significant movement and program the EYOA is.
What are your goals as an EYOA?
I wish to learn, learn and learn. Everything there is to learn about being a reporter, about Olympism, about different cultures, people, sports, cultures. I want to grow and share my journey with others at home.
What would be your dream job in the future?
Judge. I’m currently studying at a law school.
What are your expectations from being an EYOA?
I want to have fun in an educational environment, help delivering the festival and fulfiling the programme’s goals, being in contact with officials, different NOCs and come home with a warmer and joyful heart.
What does Olympism mean to you?
Olympism means striving to always be a better person, kinder, healthier, stronger, smarter. To always give a hand when needed, and give your ultimate best in each competition. Attentive to the ones around you, joyful, modest and ethical. If I make the world a better place with my actions, this will affect the ones around me, and they will further improve the world. We are all in a big chain.
