Russian triple jumper Lyukman Adams claimed gold in the boys’ discipline with an impressive jump of 15.35m—almost 30cm longer than the runner-up and half a metre further than the bronze medallist. His remarkable performance showcased his skill and athleticism, solidifying his position at the top of the podium.
Emil Staer Simensen from Denmark dominated the boys’ canoeing competition, winning gold in both the K1 500m and K1 1000m events. His exceptional paddling technique and endurance were evident as he powered through the races, leaving his competitors in his wake.
Italian gymnast Vanessa Ferrari completely dominated the girls’ artistic gymnastics discipline, medalling in every event and winning gold in most. She claimed gold in the all-around competition and the floor exercise, while also securing silver in the vault and bronze in the uneven bars, highlighting her versatility and talent.

ABOUT LIGNANO 2005

The 2005 EYOF was held in the picturesque coastal town of Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, from 3–8 July. This edition saw over 3,000 athletes from 48 countries competing in 11 different sports, including canoe, tennis, and basketball. The festival was praised for its unique location by the Adriatic Sea, offering a blend of sports and natural beauty. Lignano Sabbiadoro’s commitment to youth sport development was evident through the top-tier facilities and the strong support from the local community. Italy’s impressive medal haul solidified its place as a leading sporting nation in Europe, while the festival continued to foster international friendship and competition.
