Laura Dahlmeier (GER) had a perfect run at the Winter EYOF, winning gold in every biathlon event she entered. She dominated the girls’ 6km sprint and 10km short individual race, and also played a key role in the German team’s victory in the biathlon relay, marking an impressive clean sweep of golds for the rising star.
Norwegian alpine skier Henrik Kristoffersen showed his class by securing double gold at the event. He claimed first place in both the boys’ slalom, with a time of 1:24.10, and the giant slalom, finishing in 1:36.92. His outstanding performances solidified his reputation as one of the brightest talents in alpine skiing.
In boys’ ice hockey, the final between Russia and Finland was a thrilling contest. After a hard-fought game that ended in a 1-1 tie (0-0, 1-1, 0-0) after regulation, the match went into overtime. Russia emerged victorious with a decisive goal, winning 2-1 after a tense extra period, securing the gold medal.

ABOUT LIBEREC 2011

The 2011 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) was held in Liberec, Czech Republic, from February 13 to 18. It attracted over 1,400 young athletes from 44 European NOCs, competing in eight winter sports: Alpine skiing, nordic combined, biathlon, snowboarding, ice hockey, figure skating, ski jumping, and cross-country skiing. The event took place in multiple venues across the Liberec region, including notable spots like Ještěd for skiing and the Tipsport Arena for ice hockey. This festival served as a major platform for Europe’s promising young athletes, combining competitive spirit with cultural exchange.
